The Hands of a Skilled Shearer

Posted by

I have had my sheep shearer for about 15 years, he was about 15 or 16 years old when he started shearing for me. It is not easy to get a good shearer when you want to use the wool. A good shearer must be careful not to second cut the wool or there will be nubs in it when it is spun. I do coat most of my sheep to keep their wool clean and free of stickers.
This is my Merino ram being shorn by Carl.
